Best Seasons for El Yaque
December - April
The strongest, most consistent trade winds. Wind blows 85-90% of days at 18-28 knots. Best for serious riders who want guaranteed sessions. Accommodation fills up fast — book 2-3 months ahead. Higher prices but maximum wind value.
November & May
Wind building or fading — still 65-75% rideable days. Great for beginners who want strong but not overpowered conditions. Fewer crowds, lower accommodation prices. An excellent value window for your El Yaque trip.
June - October
Lighter wind with 2-3 rideable days per week. Larger kite/sail sizes needed. Best prices on accommodation and rentals. Good for budget travelers, long-stay visitors, and those who enjoy the quieter side of El Yaque.

- Two kite sizes (9m + 12m for peak, 12m + 14m for off-season)
- Twin-tip board (surfboard/foil board optional)
- Harness, bar and lines
- Rashguard and board shorts (wetsuit not needed)
- Reef shoes (rocky entry in some areas)
- Sunscreen SPF 50+ (reef-safe preferred)
- Kite repair kit and spare lines
